Using Facebook application to sync contacts

I've found that the Facebook for Android app does a better job of syncing my contacts when compared to Facebook for Sense. When I go to accounts and sync there is an option to just add a regular facebook account but when I click it nothing happens. Is it possible to have android do my contact sync as opposed to letting sense handle it? Thanks in advance for the answer
