Using Google Photos as gallery app

In the Shpock app when I select "pick from library" it seems to be showing photos from the default Gallery app which is missing everything since I switched the default app. Any suggestions on how to resolve this please? I have tried disabling the Gallery app but that didn't make any difference.

go into settings and change your default gallery app to the app you want.
