Using Google search tools on Nexus 7

I want to limit a search to just the last week. Using the tool icon I seem to have that choice.... but it doesn't work, it simply continues with 'any time'. The other search tools do the same - no effect. Am I missing an obvious step?

Still no answer on this one. Is there a way to limit searches to just the last week? The Google settings imply it can be done, but if I select the time setting, nothing happens to allow a limited search.

I remember when I had this problem. What you have to do is hold the time, then drag it down. It's, for some reason, not lined u with your finger. You'll notice when you hold it down, that the background gets a bit darkened.


If you notice, the choice in the middle is being selected, while my finger was way at the bottom.

I installed the new 4.1.2 Android update yesterday and the Google search tools now work. I can select the update times for searches to Anytime, Past 24 hours, etc quite happily now although you need to be careful as noted above to drag the bar in the tools menu down to the time setting and not just tap it.
