using hangouts on phone and tablet

I have hangouts on my tablet and my note 3. I knife I can use it to communicate to peyote who also use hangouts and it syncs bank and forth between devices, it's the a way to do the same with text messages?

Sorry, but wi-fi only tablets can't sync SMS messages. At least not yet.

"Communicate to peyote," eh? That must be pretty psychedelic.

My tablet is lte and WiFi. Does that make a difference?

I don't think so. SMS goes over voice signal, and no tablets in the US have telephony capability. The LTE is used purely for mobile data.
