Using my nexus 7 2013 (bought in UK) in France?

Can anyone help me with this problem? I bought a nexus 7 in UK and have now moved to France. I now can only access French sites eg Amazon, Google etc. Does any one know a cheap way to get access to UK sites? Can I use VPN apps to change my IP to a UK one?

This sounds like location based apps are defaulting to the country you are in. You could try going into each app settings & see if you can turn auto-locate off, then enter your preferred location manually. Naturally you can always go into sites like Amazon via the browser, the app is after all only a convenient link (you could have a shortcut displayed on the home screen as well, set it up in browser settings).
You can turn off location for all apps in settings - location access.
I'm trying to work out what else you mean by this - can you provide some more examples. Apps such as BBC iPlayer, and TV Catchup won't work outside of the UK, sadly that is because of legal restrictions. Using a VPN will get around this, there are quite a few companies that supply these quite cheaply.
As I said, without knowing a little more about your problem, it's difficult to advise.

Thanks for your response. I have turned off the location for all apps in setting and I can't go to amazon.co,uk via my browser, it defaults to the french site. I have been able to change my site to amazon.com and download the kindle app from that site, but when I launch it it is in french ? I am looking to try a VPN app.

I must admit I'm surprised your browser won't go to the address you type in - must be something peculiar to France, where I haven't used mobile devices. I've used my devices in many other countries & usually find that most things work normally bar an odd tweak here or there. Anyway, I can only wish you good luck, let us know how you get on with the VPN!

did you find a fix to this? I can't access lots of sites because of the firewall where I'm at plus most sites say I am based in the country I am in and so my interaction is very limited. On my laptop I can use justfreevpn .com with no problem and browse with freedom but my nexus7 won't connect using it or other vpn profiles. Is this a bug or I just need to find a better VPN site? What about apps, are there any good ones out there? Please help.
