AC Question

Textra is my default messaging app and I get my messages on my s2, but if I do not read it and/or respond immediately, the message does not stay in my watch. And then I get the message stating that I need to make the messaging app my default. On the messages I received if Messaging is my default app stays on my watch. Help!

My experience so far is that the watch will only acknowledge the stock Samsung messaging app (which I'm not at all impressed with) or Message+ app made by Verizon. I am ok with Message+ but it would be nice to use Textra and have it work with both devices. Otherwise, I get the same issues you're having where you can only read the text but not able to respond.

I have Textra as my default SMS app and I have no problem reading / replying to messages via my Gear S2

When I used Textra I had no issues getting messages or replying either....

A key to getting the watch to function fully on non-samsung apps is installing the Android Wear app. You don't have to do anything but install it. Don't ask me why it works but I couldn't reply to Hangouts messages...Installed Android Wear and now I can.

I don't have tha Android wear app installed and Textra works well with the watch. I also noticed though that the change log for most recent update of Textra mentions fixes to better accommodate the BlackBerry Hub and Samsung watches - both of which I use.
