Using the Honor 5x internationally

I have the USA Honor 5x and used it for a bit internationally in Asia. It worked fine for voice and texts and data. That said it only has LTE bands for USA mainly so I was getting "4G" on the phone which meant H/H+, and occasionally dropping to Edge. Performance was on par with devices acquired locally,when on the same network. It does support WCDMA band 1 which is used heavily in SE Asia.

Honor lists the network support as follows :
LTE FDD：B2/B4/B5/B12/B17 WCDMA：B1/B2/B4/B5 GSM：850/900/1800/1900MHz
