Using The Micro USB ?

Hi all I was able to connect the micro usb to a flash drive using the Nexus Media Importer app from Goggle play easy enough. However I have watched loads of clips on you tube of people connecting game controllers to the Nexus 7 without rooting and playing popular games, So I thought ill give this a go, connected a psp 3 then a xbox controller and nothing is there someone I'm doing wrong, or can it even be done without rooting ?

I think you can do the controllers, but not the PS3, and you should be able to do a keyboard.

Fixed it myself Does not need rooted turn controller on job done
