Using the usb adapter

My note 10.1 doesn't see my usb flash stick or my camera.
Do I need to do anything besides plugging in the adapter and then the usb device?

You are trying to plug the usb flash stick straight into your Note 10.1? If so, this won't work. You need to be rooted for this to work, even then, it's not for all devices. Are you trying to transfer images from the flash stick/camera straight to the Note 10.1? If so, you'll need to transfer via computer then access from the Note 10.1.

If you're using Amazon.com: Samsung USB & SD Connection Kit for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 / 10.v / 8.9: Computers & Accessories, it may be an issue with the format (FAT32, exFAT, etc) of the memory you're trying to read. Personally, I use Amazon.com: Juiced Systems 4-in-1 Connection Kit for Samsung Galaxy Tablets: Computers & Accessories which works fine.

Are you using the Samsung USB adapter ($20 at BestSuy)? My camera (Olympus E-M5) and every thumb drive I've plugged into it works.
