Using Virgin Evo 4G with FreedomPop

I have an old Virgin Mobile Evo V 4G, which is basically almost exactly the same as the Sprint Evo 3D. I discovered that this phone is compatible with Freedompop, so I decided to give it a try with the "free" version of their service. I had some problems, and was thinking that it might be because this phone is an Evo V 4G and not an Evo 3D. I have fooled around with this phone in the past, installing ROMs on it an such, but it has been a while. (I stuck it in a drawer for well over a year when I got a better Virgin Mobile phone that supported LTE) Is there a particular ROM for this phone that is bug-free and supports everything, including MMS and bluetooth, that might work well with Freedompop?
