V20 GPS problems?

Hello all,

I use a G5 and it has horrible GPS problems where it would take about a minute to find my location. And when I first turn my GPS on, it locates me at a different location that I was previously at. I want to switch to the V20 and am wondering if the V20 has similar GPS issues. I read on xda that some people are experiencing this, but here on AC, I haven't found any threads about it.

Anyone having these problems?

The only problem I ever have is that it doesn't seem to work when I'm connected to a public WiFi hotspot.

The G5 had problems with the WiFi/Bluetooth module which also controlled the GPS but it was easily fixed by sending it to LG.
I have not heard of any GPS problems on the V20 but be aware all makes can have random GPS issues.

Haven't seen that behavior but I don't connect to public that much.

The only time I use wifi is when smart settings turn it on at home. And then it turns off automatically when I leave. Never any GPS problems that I could tell.

Hey!
I'm going to upgrade to the V20 soon but I noticed you said LG would fix the if I sent it to them. Probably the wrong thread but do you think LG would still fix my GPS in my G5 if it's way out of the warranty? It's a year and a half old.

Zero problems on my V20. GPS takes a few seconds to start and locate my position. Never had a problem on Google Maps or Waze. I believe the G5 was an experimental design and that caused GPS problems.
