So I'm sure this information is scattered about all over the place, and I've found some of it already, but want to get it all centralized before I attempt. Here's my situation:

I'm currently still on V9, and just flashed AOSP's gingerbread rom, and was on zefie's build before that for a while. So of course, I'm rooted as well. In terms of what an updated baseband does, I think I understand that it's nothing real major. Naturally, I have the lg logo hang at bootup, but that's not an issue since I hardly reboot, and it's actually not that long of a hang. But what I'm wondering is what other kind of improvements would I see with an upgrade? Is it worth it? Everything works swell as is, but assuming I go for it, what's the process to follow? Thanks in advance everyone,

As always - #1 rule - BACKUP your NAND first!

#2 - make sure you are on CWMA Recovery - 1.2518.6

Once you have the CWMA recovery and NAND backup, you can always revert back.

I was running V9 and NRom 1.52 before I upgraded.

Steps I did:

1) CWMA 1.2518.6 (had this flashed)

2) Backup my NAND (full backup - just in case)

3) Connect phone to Windows 7 machine (32-bit) (already had the LG drivers installed prior)

4) Run the LG update utility and let it update to version VD ( I believe it takes like 15-30 minutes - depending on download speed)

5) The phone should do all the updates/reboots and eventually be back in whatever Rom you are running

6) Re-flash your current ROM - just in case

Thats it - your root should still exist, and CWMA should still be there as well

After checking everything - make another NAND backup of your current VD setup.

Alright, sweet. Thanks - now I just need to find my usb cable :\

Yeah, my precious 2 year old daughter likes to pretend mine is a jump rope. So I picked up a couple extras to have on hand. Lol

Oddly enough, I got into a boot loop after updating to VD, but nothing a quick wipe and reflash won't fix :D

Never touched stock anything, and kept my root as you said it would. I'm a happy camper. Now to restore all my apps lol.. Thanks again
