This is Google Pixel 9 Pro (not XL).

Maybe I was expecting a drastic change. But thermal monitor says 106 f right now we hile typing here.

I slapped this case on as soon as I got it. Maybe a case trapps in the heat. But after setting up the phone and playing with it for 30 minutes or an hour it was like 107 f and really warm. No games, just transferring data and apps from the previous phone.

Did I get a bad one? Or am l just expecting too much?

After leaving it alone for 10 minutes it's 99f now. Same happened on my 8 pro. After stopping using it it goes down.

Ok I will wait few days and see. But even browsing the Internet like replying here should not be raising temp much.

How much is everyone else idling at? And when you use it with and without games? And what is acceptable? Upto 110f I think? I think 140 is the melting point I read somewhere. Plus battery degrades if too hot. So how much is too much?

How good is your connectivity? If the phone is constantly searching for a signal when one isn't very strong that will cause heat and drain battery.

My Pixel 9 pro XL also got very hot during setup, but has been cooler than cool (lmao) ever since!
I've had mine almost a month now and it is definitely cooler than my 8 pro and generally better in every other way too!!

Those thick cases hold more heat in.

But the thick cases also keep me from cracking my phone when I drop it accidently. I know you just never drop it and problem solved. But easier said than done.
