Verizon 4G just kicked in, Tallahassee Fl

I hate these threads. They make me jealous and I always have to check my phone. lol Come on Raleigh. Thought about driving the couple hours to Charlotte this weekend to test it out but then I'd probably want to move.

My wife went to Nashville, TN and she did the speedtest up there.. 8 down and 33 up. We're still waiting for 4G here in Huntsville, AL.

I've heard that 4G should be up and running in Huntsville sometime in May. Which, exciting as it is, also makes me nervous because I'm just far enough out to possibly be in the dreaded fringe zone. :-\

11.8 down and 29.3 up... I saw it reach about 15 down for about 3 secs, is speedtest.net app still the best to use? It had the closest server to me, in Tallahassee, being in Kansas?

You may be the only one on the network... expected higher Downs. Your up is probably in the two to four range.

Did you receive any letters or contact from Verizon they were launching with a launch date in your area or was it just done blindly. Because I was told when I asked they would be giving each area launch dates and contacting customers in those regions. So if it goes away they might just be testing it and getting ready for a full launch if you had no contact about it.

This is why I believe the app is wrong on both fronts because I'm getting a lot faster down speeds on the actual site and other sites. We're talking 30-36Mbps. The up speeds are only around 2-4Mbps for me.

Just came to the barbershop and lost it lol crazy it is only about a mile from my apartment. I'll let you know when I get back

I got an email a couple days ago from Verizon but I think that was the same one that was reported about on here, but nothing besides that.
