I never paid much attention to the whole 4g thing until now - and only now because I'm thinking about upgrading from my DInc 1. I've pretty much decided on the Vigor, assuming of course that most of the rumors about it come to fruition. I guess I'm naive, because I fully expected that my suburban NYC commuter town in Northern Westchester had 4g coverage. It does not. Southern Westchester - yes. But they decided to draw the line about 10 miles south of me. And, no, we're not on the roll-out list that was just released. I can see I'm not alone in my frustration, but is there any rationale to Verizon's strategy here? It doesn't look like close proximity to a major metropolitan city like New York carries any weight, so it could be a year or more before we get 4g, right?
I'm now re-considering the Motorola 3.Since I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the Vigor's 4g, I might as well take advantage of the Droid's physical keyboard - something on my wishlist, but not a priority. It kills me to give up HTC Sense, with I really like, but I use Launcher Pro anyway, so I'd still be "at home" with that installed.
Sorry to ramble, but any insight into the Verizon 4g strategy OR guidance on phone choice would be appreciated. Thanks!
