Has anyone tried VZW $5 a month for S25U with a trade in of your active Samsung phone?

3 years is a long time but my s22U isn't worth the 1100 they will give me for it.

Have to upgrade to Unlimited Ultima go get the deal. I'm torn.

What is the increase in cost of your plan?

Remember, you can purchase through Samsung and do a payment plan. I believe many on here have done this and said it worked great because it was no interest.

If you generally hold onto phones forever AND you're not paying much difference in the monthly plan upgrade, then Verizon deal sounds ok, but they're not in the business of just giving people great deals.

There's something in it for them being a high percentage of those who bite on that offer won't keep the device the full 36 months, saving Verizon tons of money on the deal for no longer paying back the credits.

You have 2 questions to ask yourself.

Do you keep your phone's for several years?

Do you want a new phone every year are two ?

If you keep your phones for several years then the carrier is the best deal you're going to get. With Verizon the condition of the phone doesn't even matter, the only thing that matters is if the battery is swelling.

Obviously if you like getting new phones every year or two then buying direct thru Samsung is the way to go.

Carriers get a bad rap for three year device payments/credits as they should, but if you are someone that keeps their phones for a few years you can't beat them. Heck you can upgrade every three years for almost free with the current offers available now. It's a win win situation for people that keep phones a few years.

I usually do direct. If you can get a phone paid off before next year's new release you can upgrade yearly for $300-$400 out of pocket every year old free bonuses. If the phone is couple years old then add around $200 to that price. It's worth it to me for the yearly, always have a new phone under warranty and I never experience any issues that come with older phones.

My personal preference would be to pay cash for the phone upfront but there are no discounts for that AFAIK.

I have an S22U so its trade in value isn't very much on a straight trade-in.

The VZW UU plan costs $10 more per month than my current plan but it offers more 5G hotspot data which would be nice. If I understand the plan correctly, which is unlikely, I would also get 4K streaming. I only get 720p on my current "Unlimited" plan.

It would be nice to be able to jump on a newer phone yearly if something about the new phone really made it stand out. The S23U and S24U weren't significantly better than my S22U in ways that matter to me.

I'm only tempted by the opportunity to pay so little for the S25U. I would have to pay a little more over the same duration to get the 5gb storage instead of 256.

I've never kept a phone for as long as my current phone but the S25U doesn't knock my socks off either. I would like the flat screen though. There is no way I would spend $1400 for one though.

I agree with you on that.

IMO the S22U had terrible battery life.
S25U has been phenomenal for me
