Was browsing around Verizon's website as I usually do and I stubbled upon a message that said keep your device but not the network it's on. Now I know that they've starting to accept unlocked devices, but didn't think that included sprint. Although I have no interest in a sprint version of any phone I do think it's pretty interesting that they are allowing Sprint phones to be used on their network. We have always known they are capable because of the CDMA bands(which they use to deny) so it's surprising to see them encourage it. Guess times are changing 1473749805220.jpg

That is correct, but that was also a reason why they did allow any non-verizon phone on their network. Could big red be losing more subscribers than were aware of?
No. They pretty much allow any phone with compatible radios on the network now. Just slap an active SIM in and it'll go.

This is somewhat related, but what about a Sprint iPad Mini 4? I am interested in buying one, but it must work on something other than Sprint. I am not familiar with the iPad's Apple SIM setup.

Are Sprint iPads SIM locked? Would it, or could it, work on Verizon? How about T-Mobile or AT&T? From what I understand a data-only device is different from a phone on CDMA carriers, since they use LTE anyway and not CDMA.

I'm thinking of switching over to T-Mobile here in Hawaii. All depends though, so if I do, I'll be one of the subscribers leaving big red. TMO coverage in Hawaii is quite decent, especially in Honolulu.

From what I know all Apple tablets come unlocked. Even the sprint models.
