Wanted to share a story since this is a thread about the Verizon Edge program.
I was looking into the Edge program myself. (Long story short, I thought may be my best option right now to get a phone I want.) One thing I learned, however, is if you have FiOS and you have the One Bill setup, you cannot do Edge until you discontinue One Bill and pay VZW and FiOS as separate bills. Even though you and I see the whole thing as Verizon, the wireless and the FiOS are two separate companies, and the FiOS side of the One Bill setup will not let Edge happen. This is what I was told by a customer service rep.
Now, I don't have a discount with One Bill; I do it for convenience. I can split it up, no big deal, except that it takes 1-2 billing cycles for that to happen. No, the biggest issue I have with this is I searched ALL OVER the Verizon Wireless site for everything Edge related so I can be 100 percent up to date on my info, and saw NOTHING regarding One Bill status. I could see who was/wasn't eligible for EDGE normally, but not a darn mention about One Bill.
I ended up getting a $10 credit for my troubles from the CSR I spoke with. And at first she couldn't understand why I was upset because it was FiOS' fault, not VZW. I had to explain that had I seen a note about it on the website, I would have saved myself tons of time. Then she understood herself, and offered me the credit.
At this rate, I may not bother doing the Edge program anyway as I may have found other ways around my issues that just arose tonight. A blessing in disguise, if you will. But if anyone sees this, Googles onto it, or whatever, now you know One Bill and Edge are not compatible. You have to get rid of One Bill to use Edge.
