Hi Everybody, I purchased a Verizon extended battery a few weeks ago and really has not given me much extra juice then I have expected out of the new battery. I have my battery on max battery saver settings. I dont use a task killer so not sure if I should use one or not. In the morning i will listen to streaming radio via cherry radio and then I have email, twitter, and facebook then run on there. Any suggestions on what I should change or should I send the battery back for a new one. Thanks, Domenic

No matter what battery you have, you HAVE to shut down the miscellaneous apps running in the background. Go to ...

Settings > Applications > Manage Apps > Running tab

Click those you KNOW you downloaded/don't want running, click the "stop" button, then the return arrow to the menu. Make sure you are stopping those apps you aren't using. Be careful not to stop any vital apps for the X's operations.

You will have to do this any time you shut off power or do a batt pull. However, it will make a quantum difference in your battery life.

Also, as everyone here has repeatedly mentioned, be sure you don't have WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth active when you aren't using them. Those are major battery drains.

I have the same battery. Battery is on performance mode, no task killer i just let android do its own thing! I am on Flyx final, and prolly have 40 apps installed. My work e-mail is set to push, facebook and weather updates every 30 minutes, and I have a CBS news widget. Bluetooth and GPS are on, Wifi is off.(I leave them this way 24/7, and turn WiFi on when needed) I took my phone off of the charger Saturday morning at 9AM it has been running for about 38 hours straight, and I still show 40% remaining. You don't have to shut down anything!!!!!!!!!! Let Android do its job, ditch Taskillers, and let ANDROID manage your applications!

You must not use your phone very much.
I am on nighttime mode, only turn on WiFi at my house, have Twitter set to sync every hour, and have two e-mail accounts set to push, don't use task killers, and I don't come anywhere near that. At that rate, you'll get like 80 hours of battery life. Sorry, I ain't buying it.

Well Im not sure how many times you have actually cycled the battery, but with lithium batteries they actually get better after i think its like 20-30 charge cycles, going by memory on that, might be even as high as 30-40. Although these batteries are not supposed to have memory like nimh and older style batteries, they do have a "break in" period. Only way I know about this is from a hobby point of view where lipo battery performance is critical, all manufacturers include this info with new batteries, not to mention also recommend not going below 30% etc etc etc for certian break in. With phones the voltage cutoffs do all the work and make it mindless to use, point is you might see battery life improve after 2-3 weeks depending on how many times the battery gets a full charge.

i have a factory battery and start using it around 6am, internet, calls, pandora, etc throughout the day. The thing i notice that kills battery the FASTEST is actually calling someone, that drops battery way way faster than pandora or internet browsing. Depending on use sometimes I need to charge by noon, other times i make it all day.

Note: I am not a scientist so if some of the figures are off sorry, like i said off memory here

I could care less if u buy it or not, it is what it is regardless! I have made several calls/texts/emails, but it wasn't the busiest couple of days. I also use CT Scheduler that reboots the phone for me at 4 am every day, i really dont think that would help the battery much. Anywho, just thought id tell u guys what i've experienced with the extended battery.....take it or leave it! P.S. I've had extended battery for about a month..........

Shenanigans!
