I received my G4 and was disappointed in the screen. It is far less bright and more yellow tinted than the G3. Is this normal? I like white whites and the G4 has that amoled look to it.

Did you set it to auto and the slider to 100 %?

Sent from my Verizon LG G4

I've tried playing with the brightness settings but it doesn't help. The tint is still way off. So disappointed!

Yeah, something is not right. I have both the G3 and G4 and hands down the the G4 is brighter (white) and the colors are far more brilliant.
Return it, get a new one.

I can confirm this statement as well being a G3 and G4 owner.

Got the replacement G4. Same thing. Screen is simply not as white. It's like a dull white, slightly yellow and slightly greenish. I'd take the G3 screen any day. Very disappointed.

Are you wearing tinted glasses?

Slightly yellow and slightly greenish hmm something is not quite right here :-P

Is anyone else experiencing this too? Maybe I'm the only one it bothers. I compared it to an iPhone.. The G4 looks yellow against it too. Admittedly, the colors are better on the G4 than both of them.

Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether to ditch the G4 and stick with the G3...I've also noticed the touchscreen sensitivity problem too, although I bet that will be addressed in an update. Knock on works flawlessly on the G3 - it takes two tries minimum on the G4.

My G4 looks more like the one on the left than the one on the right in that photo. I'm sorry :(

I had the g3 for maybe 4 months last year. Always thought the screen was not very bright even at max brightness. I do not have that problem with the g4. I can leave the g4 at 70 to 75% and be very happy the g3 I always used at full brightness.

I have the same problem .. I've bought it from a retailer in the middle east . I descovered the problem when my brother bought the LG G4 and his looks bright and shiny unlike mine which looks yellow and tinted.

Here's a pic...G3 on the left, G4 on the right. Both at 85% brightness.

I have the exact same bad screen. I'd say mine is even worse. I lined up my G2 G3 G4 in a row on max bright on any identical webpage or picture and the G2 beat the others on brightness, whiteness and viewing angles.

The G3 came in a distant 2nd place with its pinkish hue and faded colors.

The G4 screen (mine, speaking strictly about mine) looks like someone left a white piece of paper out in the sun for a few years, let the family dog sleep on it for a month then put Gorilla Glass on top.

The viewing angles are worse than my old backup - $100 phone from 4 years ago (Samsung ultra low res LCD, think its called Discovery or Discover, ultra low spec, but LCD).

A replacement is on its way because others rave of their crisp white (leaning to blue hue) screens that are blindingly bright. Exactly the color temperature and brightness I personally like.

PROS for me personally:
Black leather back
Camera (but manual mode needs a reset to ground zero on all settings button, unless only I have not found it)
Feels better in the hand than the G3
Sound is better (all around)

CONS for me personally:
Well, MY phone's hideous screen
They botched the sound control splitters
Notification LED is almost useless as is
Heavy bloatware
Horrible WiFi (compared to my G2 G3)

This is hopefully my first of many posts here. I like that people stick to the topic versus having to be "right" or have the last word.

Please note that I have said that I am speaking only to the phone that was shipped to me and that I am giving ths G4 a second go. I have made no reference to the G4 in general, nor to yours.
