i was told my a verizon tech rep that we will see it by summer somtime . good i have an upgrade in dec.

Sadly, Verizon's offerings are about 6 to 10 months behind ATT (if it is not a Droid something or other). Your best bet is to wait it out if you wish to stick with BigRed. Or, be like me and consider switching carriers early. A phone released 6 to 10 after another carrier has had it is way too outdated by that time. Verizon does this all of the time. It is almost like we get the scraps on Verizon.

I am seriously considering switching to ATT and getting the Note now instead of August.

Good luck with your actual service on ATT (it's supposedly better). There's a reason Verizon has a lot of customers - best coverage and ALL LTE by 2013. 2nd Gen LTE devices should be much better on battery life. By the way, where the US Version of the Nexus on a US carrier (NOT). Yes, you can buy for full retail as an import but ATT still doesn't have a Nexus on contract.

I don't disagree with what you are saying but:

1. A Nexus is only a good device if that is what you want.
2. AT&T and Verizon have identical coverage in my region. This is really not an issue for me.

Yes I would be tempted to get such a beast. At this rate, I'll need another bag to carry my phone and spare batteries.

Reviews of the phone give it EXTREMELY good battery life - around 40% at the end of the day.

Yeah, the nexus is not a good choice for me, too many bugs with ICS and stuff, soon those will be fixed though.

AT&T has great voice coverage in my area, but doesn't have 3G at all, while Verizon has 2-3 bars at all times.

He must not go out much, my kids now have Tmobile after being with VZW with us. Yes the phone works out of the Phoenix area, calls and text, but try getting data out of town or on the way to California on I10?! Good thing I tether my Tbolt or now GN for then to use FB, YouTube and web on the drive. I choose carrier 1st, and VZW line is great by me.

Switched to AT&T (coverage in my area is better than VeriZon)....

Got the Note.

Phone is freakin' unbelievable. Everything I hoped it would be.

Worth the $20 increase in my monthly bill.

P.S. AT&T will have 4G LTE in my area before Verizon. Yeah!

I'm hoping that by the time Verizon launches the Journal it already has ICS on it and, who knows, maybe a quad-core and more memory.

I don't know where you live but the area I live in and the two I travel to have all had Verizon LTE for over a year and ATT doesn't have LTE there yet. All three are big cities as well.

I love the note but i sadly am on vzn and cant get a definitive answer as if to see when they get it. I have told by samsung that its an att exclusive. I would sell my right arm for one.
