So I'm a long time Google Voice user so I know how to add phones for forwarding etc. However, I just got my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and initially I installed the Google Voice app prior to adding the phone to my list of numbers on Google Voice. GN tried to send a text to GoogleVoice to verify the number but it didn't work. When I tried to do the verification the manual way on a computer GoogleVoice gave me the code to enter from my device but my device never rang when I clicked "Connect". Then I got a message saying it could not verify my number at this time.
Something I noticed is even though I selected "mobile" on the dropdown for the type of device, when I saved the device number, GoogleVoice automatically changed it to "gizmo". This may link to the issue but I'm not certain.
Bottom line is I'm unable to get GoogleVoice to make my phone ring so I can confirm with the code provided. Anyone have this issue or can help? (FYI - I've tried uninstalling GV from my Nexus and also tried resetting to factory settings already).
With Google Voice installed on my Galaxy Nexus as of now, I can exchanges SMS with people and make calls out, but can't receive on my Google Voice number it doesn't ring and then I see a missed call in GoogleVoice.
PLEASE HELP - This is so frustrating!
