Verizon Galaxy S3: Can we set phone app to open to "recent calls" by default?

My colleague at work would like to have the phone app to open to the "recent calls" tab by default rather than to the dialer. I could not find any settings to define that. Is it possible to do that?

I don't about on the SG3 but the GS4 open to your phone logs by default. I did google this and I found nothing. Sorry

This can be achieved using an app like tasker. It's a paid app though.

A search for "dialer" turned up 54 results in the Google Play Store - that's your best bet.

Thanks for the responses. I'll let him know and see if he wants to use a third-party app or just leave it as is.
Seems like that would have been a pretty obvious option to include.

Try an app called xshortcut from Google Play

Follow the following steps:
1. Install xshortcut 2.0.x
2. Open xshortcut's Editor.
3. Switch to Component page
4. Use the following data to create a homeshortcut for this purpose.

Component Package: com.android.contacts

Component Class: com.android.contacts.activities.DialtactsActivity

MIME Type: vnd.android.cursor.dir/calls

I have a GS3. I just assumed that this is what was happening:
Limitation: If a captured activity contains more than one page (e.g. tab-style UI), the shortcut may not direct you to the page you want. In this case, the shortcut normally directs you to the initial page of the activity -- it depends on the app developer.
