verizon galaxy s3 unresponsive

Hi i just replaced my glass and now the touch screen wont work. It boots up, makes noise, home and setting buttons work. but will not reconize my touch. The phone worked perfectly. I heated the broken screen up with a hair dryer and removed all peices. Put the new glass in. Does any one know what ive done wrong. thanks jake

Could have gotten the Digitizer too hot or nicked it while getting the old glass off. It is very sensitive, hence the glass covering.

It does look like there is a quarter inch scratch on the screen. Not deep. Would that be enough To render the screen useless?
