Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Phone now announces "opening google"

If I use the google voice search the phone now announces "opening google" as its opening the app which kind of annoys me. My Maxx didn't do that. Is there a way to turn that off?

Nope, there was an update a few weeks ago that enabled it. Many do not like it. Not sure if it'll ever go away. The '14 X is doing the same.

Its super annoying. Well, its pretty annoying anyway. I don't care that you are opening the app. Just answer my question.

Mine doesn't do it. I use the Google Experience Launcher. Could that be why I'm not hearing it?

I think it only does this if you turn on the Google Now Voice option "From any screen" versus only in Google Search.

Mine doesn't do this.

Try switching to stock (launcher 3) from settings menu>home screen and see if that does it.

I'm using Nova, but also used Nova on my Maxx and it didn't do it.

Remove the update for moto or moto assist. Not sure which it was but that stopped the opening google for me.

Remove the update for moto or moto assist. Not sure which it was but that stopped the opening google for me.

Yep, launcher has nothing to do with it. It's been discussed in the X forums http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-x-2014/450053-moto-x-2014-voice-says-opening-google.html This thread will have most if not all the answers already.

can anyone get ok google to work from screen off, or is it only going to work with moto voice active with whatever phrase you program.

You have to train your voice first using the moto app. After that it will work fine.

Uninstalling the update fixed the problem.
