Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Sure looked like a dainty launch event

I thought the size of the launch event was interesting. If you're launching a Samsung Galaxy S variant, iPhone, LG G2/3 you rent out an entire auditorium, perhaps Radio City even and have big massive displays. Launch a new Droid and you just throw some tables and chairs in a small dining room with a few risers for the presenter to stand on using two 40" tv screens for displays.

I'm not necessarily saying it was inappropriate, just interesting how much less fanfare it got. Just an observation. Not that the general public has any clue that there is a new phone coming out most of the time unless its an iPhone.

I think a big part of that is the difference between the launch of a global smartphone vs one that's only available on one US carier.

I was kinda surprised too. But we should brace ourselves for the ad campaign that is about to commence! They will sell the heck out of the Droid Turbo.
