Verizon doesn't block the app, they just say some/all phones are incompatible with it.

That PR is complete nonsense. They're just upset that it's in the press that they won't allow Google Wallet.

I think Verizon is doing damage control here for anyone who doesn't know about the GNex thinking that Verizon is just ignorantly blocking an app on their phones. I'm pretty sure the GN is Wallet-capable, since it has NFC and is a phone made (mostly) by Google themselves.

Verizon has to have it blocked by some means cuz in a phonearena article they confirmed w/ Google, it's in there and it can be utilized once you root and rom, just can't use it on the stock LTE unit, at this time.

Notice that Verizon immediately pushed out a press release about this and when it came to announcing the Galaxy Nexus it was late on a Friday.

It shows where Verizon's priorities are placed.
