Verizon pre order question

So I am going to order the xl and have a question about the free mini home. The website says you have to trade in a device in order to get the free mini home. Do you think this is really the case? I called Verizon sales and the guy had no clue.

Doesn't sound like you have to trade anything in.

Okay, that's VZ's ordering page, and the fine print seems to be referencing up $300 off with trade in. I don't think that's in reference to the Mini. The Google store is giving a $350 trade in for my Pixel - which seem a really good based on local Craigslist ads.

The Verizon site says you get a free mini with purchase. Then it says you can also trade in your old phone for up to $300 off.

I can confirm. You don't need to trade in anything to get the speaker. If you just buy the phone you'l qualify.
