Verizon Roaming Canada - cannot get LTE, why?

Verizon Roaming Canada - cannot get LTE

I am trying to use the international plan in Canada and can only get H+, not LTE. My buddy has ATT and is also roaming, but gets LTE. The network is rodgers.

Possibly unrelated, but since getting here my phone says:

SIM card not from Verzion...

Ideas?

If you are using Verizon service it could be that Verizon does not have an LTE agreement with Rogers to roam and use LTE on their network.
