Verizon S20+ with Facebook katana problem, overloading resources message.

Brand new and facebook katana keeps asking me to close it down because it is overloading system resources. I am not going to wipe my phone and start over. Already uninstalled facebook and reinstalled.
Didnpt help. so it's a goner unless someone else has a solution.

Katana is the folder in which facebook is installed.

I disable Facebook because it's a resource hog and just use the browser, however I've never had the issue you mention.

"Katana" is the system-level app name for Facebook. I'm willing to bet that Facebook is just being Facebook (i.e., being a resource hog), and your Device Care app/feature (or similar app you might have installed) is being triggered by it. I don't think there's anything you can do about it if you want to keep using the FB app. Consider using the FB website on your phone's browser, which is pretty functional.

No worries, it's just an issue with the latest update to Facebook. I'm getting the same message.

There's an app called Simple Social, which is a skin for the old mobile website version of Facebook. It uses very little resources and you're still able to send messages without having to install Messenger.

I've yet to see that on my s20, but it does happen on my s9+ A LOT!!! Its because Facebook is a trash app that is horrible on your phone's resources.

You had me in the first half...

Back in the day whenever anyone would have trouble with texting, or really any messaging app, or battery drain FB was usually a big contributor to the issue. Never cleared its own cache, hogged a lot of the resources, ruined a lot of lives... Since then the first two have mostly cleared up. I'd say if you're having issues they're probably temporary.

I just recently installed Instagram, and that is when this message started popping up for me. Are we sure it is the Facebook app and not Instagram, or a combination of the two?

Welcome to Android Central! Instagram is owned by Facebook, so it might be some combination of its components.

Thanks everyone, I am reinstalling FB one more freaking time. I have two Note 4's and a Note 8 in pristine condition and this has never happened, It's a bunch of crap that this happens to an expensive phone like the Verizon s20+ 5G.
