Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Can't connect to network printer

I have an hp officejet pro 8600 network printer. It is connected to my wifi network and works fine from my laptop. I can connect to it through hp eprint from Verizon data 4G but not directly through wifi. I have tried several apps but none find the printer on my network. Print bot used to work fine and samsung print used to work fine but now they cannot find printer on network. Any suggestions?

Hmm interesting..

I have the same printer and have it connected via WIFI to my HTC One, S4 , Nexus 7 and an iPhone 4.

I really don't have any real trouble shooting techniques other than reboot your router, reboot your printer and see if you can get your Note 3 to pick up on it.

No it's the forum software. I'll admit sometimes it does block things it shouldn't.

Is it possible to connect a printer directly (no computer) with my note4 without a router or wifi? I only use 4g since I have unlimited Internet and we have no wifi at home. I might be able to dig out an old router but I would like to try to do this without one since I'm not sure I still have one. My husband recently bought a Canon mx472 but I haven't been able to figure out how to connect to it do I might be able to return it. I've read that some people use Google cloud to connect to their printer but this particular printer doesn't seem to be able to connect to Google cloud per their list of printers. Thoughts? Am I just going to have to return this printer and go through Google cloud?
