Verizon Samsung s10 Plus doesn't work on Sprint network

How can I verify that? There are features on my phone that are only available with the TMO software load. VVM is an example. With a TMO load it is native and you don't have to use the app.

Is there link you can share to more info?

It's not documented in the update release notes. Samsung never ever mentions this ability for some reason. They began doing the with the S8/Note 8, then the S9 and Note 9 and so far, the S10 can do this. It will come to the Note 10 eventually but it's too soon after release.

The only way you can try this out yourself is to make sure you S10 is on a carrier version of the firmware and is unlocked and has all the current firmware updates. Insert any sim and it will reboot into the carrier firmware corresponding to the sim.

Including the bloatware from the carrier? Or firmware only.

You get all that depending on the carrier. Insert an AT&T sim and you get the AT&T specific firmware loaded up with all the DirecTV garbage and there are about 10 games that you force install as well that can only be disabled.

I don't have a Verizon sim so I can see how bad Verizon is. T-Mobile is minimal and Xfinity Mobile has none and basically uses the unlocked version of the firmware just with the Xfinity Mobile boot up screen. Xfinity Mobile does offer the choice to install two apps at setup but I unchecked the boxes on both and neither installed.

The only way you will be able to avoid that is to stay on the unlocked firmware but calling features may not work. On T-Mobile and Xfinity mobile using the unlocked firmware, they support WiFi calling and VoLTE. I don't know about Verizon or Sprint.

With Sprint if the IMEI of the bring your own device is not listed ( in their database) then it won't work on their Network.

I have a T Mobile Sim and I don't see anyway to activate any of what you are talking about, I have the U1 firmaware. Do I need to switch to a branded U firmware first?

Yes, it only works on the carrier branded firmware. I picked the T-Mobile firmware on two S10s and the x-finity firmware on the other two. I can insert any sim on any of these phones and it reboots into that carriers firmware version.

Interesting.

Did something change in the past year or two? Verizon and Sprint phones have NEVER worked on each other's networks.

Yes, Samsung used to make seperate phones for each carrier, but not anymore, it's all controlled by the firmware that is installed, the phones are the same...It started in the S8 series if I remember correctly.

I have a Samsung S10 plus originally with Verizon and its unlocked. I am trying to take this phone to work with sprint network but after entering the IMEI on sprint website, Sprint says 'it is not compatible and can't be activated'. Phone details are:

Model: SM-G975U
Baseband version: G975USQS1ASD9

Could it be because of baseband version or firmware? Any idea how I could make this phone work on Sprint network, I am stuck right now. Any help, much appreciated.

It will work.. their policy won't allow them to activate it.

I'm fighting this exact same problem. I was going to buy an unlocked Verizon S10 Plus, but Sprint will not activate it. When asked, Sprint says, at this time, all they can activate is the S10E if you bring it from another carrier... they cannot YET activate the S10 or S10 Plus. They made it seem like "eventually" they would be able to activate them. :-(

my guess as to why they wont activate is because the banding not working for their own s10 line... I had to go through Asurion to get a replacement that finally let me make and recieve text messages.

Sprint does not like to activate any phones not on their whitelist. Basically they want you to purchase one of their phones through them.
