I'm new to this Site as well as Android.. This is my first Android phone and so far I'm loving it however I have some concerns about the battery life.. Today I took the charger off around 10:30am and I'm already down to 50. Is that normal?
I've used the Internet, went on instagram, took some pictures, and downloaded a couple apps. Is this normal?

perhaps your apps are running in the background. They have to be shut down, hold down the home button and the apps will pop up, then you can get rid of them, flick them off the screen or remove all. Also in the settings you can check what is draining your battery. Not super tech savvy so I hope that helps

What is your total screen on time? Click on Screen when you are looking at that battery screen.

Wow.....I took my phone off the charger around 7am. and it is 4pm here now.......My phone is showing 50% discharged. 9 hours is amazing for me. With my last phone (Thunderbolt) after 4-5 hours my phone was dead. You may look to make sure you dont have unwanted apps running in the background. I did disable all Verizon apps.

that's on par I would say with what I have seen in other posts. Screen on and radios really kill the battery. 2.5 hours of screen on time and 55% battery life remaining is good. I don't see that on my rezound or tbolt even with the 2850mah extended battery.

I can say that I am satisfied with the battery life. I had a Gnex, stock 4.0.4.. No live wallpaper, no games, etc but I did moderate web surfing / music streaming. And I literally had to plug it in at work, car + home. Not to mention it had a 2100 battery from verizon. I've had the SGSIII unplugged from 4 am. Just now plugged it in 5:25p and I was on it quite a bit, downloading and getting things set up.

Okay thanks so much haha I just wanted to see if it was normal :) also I downloaded an app called SwiftKey 3.. Is it known to drain Battery?

SwiftKey keyboard is a great app. I got it free a while back. No, it is not known for draining battery.

Lol, you're worried about two and half hours of screen-on time? That's incredible battery life. Outstanding battery life. My Rezound would get an hour and a half total, if I was lucky.
The battery life on this phone is excellent.
