Verizon still grandfathering unlimited?

Everyone bummed about unlimited data may want to upgrade soon. Looked into upgrading a second line on my account and where before when trying to upgrade it said i would not be able to choose unlimited i had to do 2 gigs and now it does not do that, it lets me retain my unlimited data? Glitch in verizons system or what?

I work for Verizon and im pretty sure it may be a glitch ...regardless if u call in to activate ur new phone and tell the rep ur activating a phone a "friend gave you" the rep might accidentally add it as cpe (cst provided equip) instead of u2 (upgrade 2yr discount)...this allows the system to retain unlmt feature...

If you have your own phone to activate you can keep your unlimited. You have to buy a phone outright to keep your unlimited and telling you to lie about a phone is not good advice. If your phone is a subsidized device, they will know it and you won't be able to keep your unlimited.
I was not happy when the plans were changed but when I realized the amount of data I really use, making the switch will save me money. Also you can use wifi free. I wouldn't try to fool Verizon because you won't get away with it. And the rep who suggested this.....I used to be a manager with Verizon.......I would be careful what you say and suggest to customers. A good sales rep will be helpful and honest to their customers and not give suggestions that may lead to being dishonest. It will backfire and then the customer will be really upset. I saw a lot of things misrepresented and it isn't right. No wonder customers get an attitude!

Well I upgraded my phone in store on July 12 and for some reason it let me keep my unlimited data. Me and the manager talked about having the 2 gig plan etc so all along I thought I was on the 2 gig plan. But after getting home and looking at my receipt which has my contract and what I agreed to it has unlimited data on it so I now have it for another 2 years. How this happened when I upgraded after June 28 is beyond me, which is why I went online and looked and it was even allowing you to upgrade subsidized so just wanted to share that info!!

Hi, if you upgrade on line you can keep your unlimited plan. They told me that they will keep it like this for a few days.
