I see Verizon is offering this on certain phones if traded in on a Pixel 2/XL. Anywhere from $100, $200, or $300 depending on trade in. But it looks like you can't pay the balance off prior to the end of the 24 months without losing your trade in credit. Is this new? In the past I thought it was allowed to pay the balance in full early.
Be nice to pay it off in full and get the monthly bill rebate for the next 24 months.

Correct. Here's how it works on the phone I got last year. They gave me a $200 credit for my Droid Turbo 2. However, that credit was $200 spread out over the 24 months. Then, they charged me the price of full price of the phone spread out over 24 months. I called them, if I pay off the balance of the phone early the monthly credit they were giving me of my trade-in ends.

Yeah, I figured that out, which is why I'm gonna do this:

Bought XL @ VZW last year w/ $200 discount. WIll NOT pay off that phone, therefore receiving the full $200 when the contract ends.

Buying XL2 from Google with their financing. Will get advantage of the $400 discount for my trade.

In the end, I will have gotten $600 total in trades over the 2 phones.

Back when I got the original XL, there was a Google $150 promo. VZW extended that to me as a credit (I was in my "return" period, but rather than making me give back my phone and get a new one, I got lucky. The system was balky, and a regional mgr happened to be there. She approved the credit directly put on my next monthly bill). I effectively used my XL for a year at no charge)O:-)

Same. Keeping payments and discount for the next 13 months with Verizon on my current pixel, then buying the pixel 2 from Google with $350 trade in for my current phone phone
