I have a notification wanting me to activate the new app is it safe? and will it be a battery drain source?
 
If you're talking about enabling McAfee... That's a personal choice. I've never used an AV app on any of my phones so not sure about battery hit.

Yes, I don't know if it came with the last update on the 15th or, if I had it disabled and re-enabled it but if it's not really needed on a phone like it is on a Pc, then I'll just keep it disabled. Thanks very much! :)

Yeah, those kind of apps make it look like you'd better install them or something bad will happen. If you use the internet responsibly, don't open emails/attachments from unknown sources and only download protected Play Store or Galaxy apps, you should be fine.
