Verizon Visit Today Reveals Something....

Pixel 1 was sold there, why wouldn't that happen for the 2nd iteration? Plus, the rumor mill has it that this time around the Pixel line will be sold by other carriers as well, including T-Mobile. We'll see. Only 5 days until it's formally announced.

I hope it will be sold on other carriers. That would be my plan b if I fail to get it on the Google store. Total load of my back lol. But I highly doubt it.

So I swung by VZW for a new sim chip and a case for my Pixel XL to protect it until the trade in for the Ultra Pixel (if it exists) or the Pixel 2 XL 128GB. Doug. the guy that helped me out, told me they flew all of the VZW folks and product support from Richmond VA out to Google on the 26th. I am guessing this means that the Pixel will again be sold by Verizon Wireless....what do you think

Pretty sure verizon has a 3 year agreement to sell the device. Remember reading about that last year somewhere.

That is controlling the experience. By not allowing customers to use a phone they love on the carrier of their choice, that is controlling the experience. Use whatever words you want, exclusives are almost universally terrible for everyone involved except that one carrier. It limits choices for customers, and it limits sales for the OEMs, and it makes the public mad most of the time, to boot ..
Yeah I think they truly did it for an agreement on how much Verizon will advertise it.

Verizon does a better job at advertising than say Sprint. Sprint hired the "Can you hear me now" guy some 5 years later...lol That ship has sailed. Verizon is using the guy from the HBO series Silicon Valley in their commercials. In my opinion those commercials are pretty effective.

Last time I checked, the Pixel was sold in the Google Store unlocked. You could purchase it and use it on any carrier in the US or worldwide.

"Pixel is an unlocked phone and works on major carrier networks. In the US, Pixel is compatible with all GSM-based networks and two CDMA-based networks: Verizon and Sprint."

I think you like to debate, just to debate. I have my bachelors and masters in communications and marketing falls within my sphere.

yes, which is great, and you've now made my point for me. I was responding to your quote here:

We are talking about using a hand selected carrier. ....
And I said doing that is a bad idea. I'm glad we both agree now :-)

I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon would be the official carrier partner for this year's Pixels.

Sucks if you're on a different carrier and want to get it off them, but there is Google Store financing, so it's not the end of the world.

I am on Verizon and I will be buying my Pixel 2 from the Google store. Have a problem with a Pixel you buy from Verizon and you get to deal with VZW.
