What are we to see with using it? I get a message when I receive a voice message. Actually there are two messages. Is this normal?
Then I check the message and receive two more messages that there is a message. They have the same number.
Just curious. Have never used it before so I don't know how it is suppose to work.
Thanks

Are you using only VZW VVM? You should only get one notification and one VM message. Use the VZW Voicemail app to see your messages. Make sure to select the VM tab rather than SMS or All. It is the "list" of Voicemails that makes it "visual".

Does it require you to create another message

I can't remember if I had to record another message or not - I THINK you might have to. click on the icon and then the menu button to see if there is set up or preferences......or just call your phone and see what happens. :)

But I put the icon on my first home page for easy access and it works like a charm.

Yes.

But...

I skipped that part. Mine just says "123-456-7890 is not available now, leave a message", or similar. On your Voicemail app there will be a selection to "make a recording". That's what it is talking about. I just ignore it.

VVM uses your standard out of office or not available message, you dont need to create another one. You can create different messages for specific contacts though.

When I switched from VM to VVM I lost the recorded greating I had with VM.

I lost mine when I subscribed to VVM myself, using my phone. Perhaps when you call to have a CS rep do it it's different. On my phone I was asked if I wanted to record a greeting, I said no. Afterward I had the default phone number greeting. I dunno...

You stated - On your Voicemail app there will be a selection to "make a recording". .

I believe you are referring to top of the screen ?Record voice mail?. I thought this was to send a voice mail to a friend vs. setting up the recording when you?re out.

When you hit the ?Record voice mail? button, it asks you to enter a Verizon Wireless Customer number only. Then it gives you the option to send.

I assumed it was to leave yourself a vm message as a reminder or something. Am I wrong?

Ahh... gotcha... I didn't press it :) I guess you'd have to use the dial-in menu to change the greeting.

I don't undrrstand? They answer their phone and get a recorded message? I'd be pissed if I got a call like that.

Yes sounds a little crazy, but in emails and text messaging you can’t always tell tone of a message. Sometime this is beneficial when traveling for business. Call the boss or a college. You can now hear I’m not pissed and just running through an airport.

There are better voice message apps, including voice recorder, already in the app drawer. Create your message and then email. Faster than typing. I’m old and have fat slow fingers.
