Verizon Visual Voicemail

Is there any way to access visual voicemail directly in the phone app instead of having to use the voicemail app on the phone? I remember years ago I would get a voicemail tab in the phone app and I could check my voicemails there. I am using the google phone app right now but I have also switched back to the stock app and can't seem to find that functionality on either. Is it possible?

Visual voice mail looks only through app , still can get to voice mail but not visual by long pressing #1

That is really annoying, when did this change? I remember years ago when I was on Verizon I could get voicemail in the phone app. Maybe that was a Pixel feature?

Pixel yes with certain carriers, like my Tmobile sim in my pixel 4xl got it in the dialer but my Att sim wasn't there .

Well it would be nice if they could add this for Samsung phones as well. It is nice to only have to use the one app, but I guess not a huge deal breaker.
