Noob to the forums... bear with me. Verizon VS996, 8.0.0 - Only when using chat heads for FB Messenger - the keyboard is darkly shaded, almost impossible to see keyboard. Multiple keyboards - same issue. Uninstall and reinstall Messenger, same thing. Also, with notifications pulled down, keyboard still operates. #1 ; FB Messenger problem screen. #2 , normal keyboard operation. #3 , notification panel. I can still type with the panel dragged down.

That's odd... I've tried it on an S9 (T-Mobile) and V20 (Unlocked) and they both show the keyboard as normal when FB is made to be a floating head. When you pull the notification shade that's normal, because Messenger has the keyboard open, but the notification shade overlays on top of everything else. But when that is not pulled down, I see keyboards as active and without shading (SwiftKey Beta, SwiftKey, and Google Keyboard as well as stock keyboard for both devices). Have you tried clearing Messenger's cache? Or disabling chat heads and re-enabling?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Messenger, also cleared the cache. I got the phone a week ago, and it worked fine for the first couple of days, and then started doing this. Odd.

Has the Messenger app been recently updated? Maybe it's a bug from the last version? If you can find the APK try installing a previous version and if that fixes it, then it's a bug (FB is quick to fix those, though).

I've never seen that on my V30 and I have SwiftKey installed. I'd say the even bigger crime is using BT headphones instead of the Quad DAC.

Haha, hard to work while I'm wired. I use BT for my handsfree.

FB Messenger hasn't updated in at least 3 days... If I knew where to find an older version apk... I'd try it.

Update/correction #2 . In the first screenshot, I can move the chat head around. In the second, it's like it's not there. The keyboard activates through it.
