Hello all, Reese Har here and very new to this, so overlook me if I mistakes. I have a Galaxy S24 ultra phone. This morning when I opened the phone, I noticed that some of my text were gone, and I did not delete them. I also noticed that I had text to appear that were deleted years ago, and at the time is was not only a different phone, but was a different number as well. The same thing has happened on my gallery, a lot of images were gone that I did not delete. What im the world is going on with my phone. Same thinh happened to a friend of mine. Is it a virus or bug in my y phone or in the system? I desperately need help. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Check this out.
Did you use SmartSwitch?
Is your old Sim still activated?
No. Old sim card is long gone. The phone they were deleted from is probably 4 or 5 years ago and I couldn't even say the number until the text showed up I don't remember if I used smart switch or not. I don't think I did.

I've read this several times, but this is no help. Text messages are being deleted and very old deleted ones are reappearing. The ones that reappeared were ones deleted years ago. This is also the case with images in my gallery, some are disappearing and some that were deleted have reappeared back on my phone. Is this is a glitch in Google mainframe or something else? I can't understand why this is. From my understanding, I am not the only one that this has happened to.

Welcome to Android Central! Were the photos that disappeared saved only locally to the phone's hard drive, or were they backed up to the cloud (like in Google Photos or OneDrive)?

Have you noticed any unexpected reboots where you had to set the phone back up again?

I would not suspect malware. As long as you follow common sense security guidelines, it's actually very difficult to get malware:
