Very slow charging

Normally the G4 charges rather quickly, but I do think LG was overly aggressive with their thermal based charge throttling. It will start to reduce the charge current before even reaching 100°F (in addition to reducing screen brightness). So if you use the phone while it's charging, expect to see longer charge times. It's normal to see slightly longer times when in use, but the G4 is exceptionally long. For whatever reason, that's how LG programmed it.

Why does the G4 charge so much slower than every other phone?

The included charger is slow.

I just got the LG G4 instead of getting a third Droid Turbo 2 in two months (manufacturing quality control issues, horrible customer service from Moto, good customer service from Verizon) and with the LG G4 pack-in charger or an iPad charger, it takes 5-6 hours to charge. With an iPhone charger? Forget about it, doesn't charge. With the Droid Turbo 2 charger? Under an hour and a half.

I sent back my DT2 charger with the other phone, so I ordered a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 certified charger. The 808 processor in the LG G4 supports QC 2.0, you can find lots of chargers available including ones from the phone OEMs. I went with one from Tenergy on Amazon. It comes with a cable, it's under $10 and it has good reviews that aren't faked. I don't post enough to be able to do links yet, just search "Tenergy Quick" on Amazon and you'll see their deals.

This g4 had never fully charges as fast as any other fast charging phone.... Even some non quick charging phones charge faster. This is unacceptable.

The G4 does have a 3000mAh battery too, which is larger than most phones. That alone can add to charging time.

Though, you do sound like you're seeing a drastic difference compared to what you expected. What kind of charge times are you getting? On a related note, is that with the stock charger, QC2.0 charger, or something else? Also, have you used an app like Gsam or Ampere to monitor the actual charging current? If you use Gsam, posting a screen shot of the charging graph showing the rate of charge over time would be helpful. Once fully charged, how is the battery life?

It is possible that there's something abnormal going on with your specific phone. Long charging times can be related to hardware defects and rogue apps as well.

I use a QI pad to charge.
From a 30% charge to full takes about 2hrs.

This may sound dumb but is the "wordy" part of the charger up? I noticed the charge time is different when its upside down

My G4 charges faster than my G3 using a fast charger branded charger from amazon

It also makes a huge difference in charging speed if the screen is off. It seems to charge 2-3X faster from a dark screen
