Sprint Galaxy S8 Very slow LTE speed in my galaxy S8 PLUS

GF got home. I just did a test on her iPhone 7 Plus and my S8 Plus. Same speed test server.

So... I dunno if it's CA in general then or ATT maybe. I dunno but I can't get more than 3mbs on LTE no matter where I'm at. The speeds you all are getting are absolutely insane. Blows away my 100mb WiFi even.

My area is still pretty solid. Most places 30 Mbps on LTE. Others upwards of 80.

Still hard to imagine some of these LTE speed at over 100MBS and some of your home WIFE over few hundred!

You know, I wonder if all those super fast guys are getting to take advantage of the new Gigabit LTE and perhaps our area (CA ATT) just doesn't have that set up yet?

Some carriers just have it setup that way in their area. If you get 30 or more that's plenty for what you'd do on a phone. Less can still work.

Just remember some of those above this post are wifi tests.

I understand, but when I see you guys posting speeds on average over 30mbs and I average 3... Well I see a problem.

I'm on Sprint and have the exact same issue. I took it to a Sprint store and suggested I get a replacement because I was within my 15 days. I'm still having the same issue with the replacement

I'm in Atlanta with the same issue of slow speed. Phone died LTE but speeds are super slow

I'm having the same issue with my S8 on Sprint. Sprint CS has been no help. They've had me replace my SIM card (which ended up breaking my calling, since fixed), update network settings (some pound code), and re-provision.

I've read online about prioritizing bands, but I'll need to get the MSL out of Sprint CS first. My speeds are generally <1Mbps download to 6-10Mbps. There is one cell tower I connect to on my way into work at a train station that I get 60+Mbps, but every other time it's abysmal.

Any advice from the experts?

I have had slow or unusable LTE with Sprint ever since they turned on Band 41. Symptoms of the problem are that the phone believes it's got an LTE signal but data is not available. Sometimes it will download a speed test and die half way through. Other times the upload will show less than 0.25Mbps speed. Problem spanned three different cell phones exact same symptoms at the same location. After over a year of messing around, finally discovered the problem is Sprint tuned their phones to try to use Band 41 even when the signal is too weak. Going into the DEBUG menu, LTE Engineering, disabled band 41 as well as all the Band 41 CA settings, restarted phone, and my service has been great and reliable ever since.

I'll have to get my MSL from Sprint in order to mess with these settings. My phone is prioritizing band 41 over 25 and 26.

I live close to the sticks. I'm excited to have moved to Verizon so I can actually use my phone inside. Lol

I get 15 where with at&t I was getting around 1-2. I have the fastest home provider here as well with the fastest pkg of 5 that sometimes goes to 10.

Hello, I am a sprint user and have Samsung s8+. I used to use 90 WiFi home and out. Now i fell behind with xfinity I have found my phone to be very slow at home and in public. It like my phone was use to WiFi so much it don't know how to function without it. I tried everything I can thing to make my LTE n phone move faster. I will take it in Saturday 11/18/2017 to see what they say. Any ideal or suggestions?? ~ Chgo
