Vibrant Won't Boot

I am fairly new with rooting/hacking Android software, but have been reading a lot. I have been unlocking/jailbreaking iPhone's for quite some time now. I have a rooted Samsung Vibrant with the premium version of ROM Manager installed and backed up the ClockWorkMod after I flashed it. I wasn't able to find any ROM's through the application and thought it was my SD Card. There is an option within the application towards the bottom to format your SD Card for whatever reason it was, I can't remember. But after doing so and restarting my phone, I no longer have a home screen; or any phone functionality besides the recovery menu. I have tried to clear all data and cache along with wiping all user data, but nothing has helped.

I did try to reinstall packages through the recovery mode, but since my SD Card was wiped, that won't work.

Any ideas? I need a working phone :/

Is the recovery you're referring to stock recovery or ClockworkMod recovery? If it's Clockwork, did you make a backup before this happened?

It's Clockwork, and yes I made a backup but I'm not able to access the phone whatsoever. It loads up to the flashing "S" symbol and then the screen is blank but the buttons light up and they respond when I touch them. I have no idea what has happened.

Try wiping everything and installing a different ROM? Might just be a bad download. If not, you may have to go through the Odin process (I'll link ya it, give me a minute).

As long as you can get into Clockwork, you are not bricked.

I've wiped everything, I think I somehow deleted the Operating System -.-. But I'll try that out and I'll post whether it worked or not.

EDIT: Just reread your post, I'm not able to even get into Clockwork.

If you see the "S" symbol that means you're trying to boot into the OS. Have you tried to boot into Clockwork by turning the phone off and then holding the vol down + power buttons? You should be able to get to Clockwork before you see the "S" symbol.

Well when I hold the vol up + down buttons along with the power it goes into recovery mode, and I'm unable to reinstall the packages, if that's what you mean?

EDIT: If you wouldn't mind, tell me exactly how to get into the Clockwork Recovery Module. (IE. How many times to let the Logo flash, when to let go of what button, which buttons to let go of, etc..)

What color is the text in the recovery mode that you're able to get into?

I believe it's blue and yellow (or green, I'm a bit colorblind ). But it's the recovery menu that allows the user to Reboot, Reinstall Packages, Clear Cache, and Clear User Data. Do I need to boot it into Downloader mode?

Oh boy - that is the stock recovery system. That means Clockwork is either not installed or not installed correctly, so you can't restore using Clockwork.

Your only recourse would be to restore the phone to its factory state using a computer program called Odin. Go to this thread on XDA and follow the step-by-step. You might need to do a little research and ask a few questions there, but if there is a way to revive your phone that is it. Good luck!

After performing that, my phone was reset but the operating system still won't load -.-

Hopefully in a few hours when everybody wakes up there will be some Vibrant experts that can give better advice than I did. I would also utilize the XDA forums as they are all about this kind of stuff.

That's what I'm hoping for, everything seems to be working perfectly except for the fact that I can't get the OS to boot, ah!

Download Mode

I flashed my vibrant with the European verson and no matter what I did I couldn't get into download mode to use odin. Simple solution since it does let you into recovery mode download the android sdk tools and through command prompt just change to the directory and go into the tools folder and type
adb restart download and poof it will reboot the phone in download phone so odin can do its magic. Simpler than trying to hold buttons that may or may not work.
