i used to have a storm 1 and it had an option to vibrate before ringing (calls, sms, email... anything) i was wondering is there such an option or app i can download that will let me set my notifications/calls to vibrate before ringing.

Thanks

I do, too, Raze. I hope an app comes out for this. Along with a repeat notification app. I don't need to get notified if I miss a call, I want to be repeatedly alerted if there's a voicemail or text I haven't responded to.
I would love an app that gives us more choices on how we are notified. And I miss losing the ability to answer my phone discreetly before it starts ringing.

there is no such option ... it rings and vibrates at the same time ... i want it to vibrate and THEN ring

While I see the advantage for a vibrate before ring, note that all blackberry phones by default don't seem to allow vibrate and ring which I find totally ludicrous. Cant see a fault with vibrate + ring at the same time, it makes sense to me and every other phone is like that.

Mine does vibrate for a least a second before the ring starts, if you want more then that you need another app.

Make a custom ring tone with a few second pause or no volume at the start.

it's funny how when people realized that's how blackberry's operate, vibrate and then ring, there was all kinds of complaints, eventually someone made some apps, and then much later, OS 5.0 added the functionality.

now, android does things the "normal" way, and people want it to vibrate and then ring.

can't please everyone. although, i guess an option to do it one way or another would do just that. :p

maybe someone can make can app androVIB or something. ;)

Similarly, I have all my notifications (emails/messages/etc) set to vibrate as well as ring and yet for some reason my phone won't vibrate when I get a gtalk or text message.

i figured out how to have vibrate before ring for text messages. download handcent from the appstore.

do the usual stuff like turn off the native sms messaging so you dont get duplicate message. the handcent faq shows you where to do this.

in your android settings go to sound and display>Notification ringtone select and set to silent, you will be prompted to select which app to use, select handcent.

open handcent properties and go to notification settings then select notification settings again. scroll down to reminders and do the following.

put a check in enable reminders.
next select number of reminders.
next select the reinder interval, i have mine set for 1 min
next select special reminder sound and put a check in the box
and finally select your reminder sound.

this is pretty much what i did, i may be missing a step because i did not write what i did down and i spent a couple of frustrating hours of trial and error . play with it and if i forgot something please update so that others can have this function.:)

In order to do this, you have to go in to each app (messaging, talk), hit menu>settings, and then scroll until you see the "vibrate" option.
