Okay so I'm not sure of the clear answer on this one, does the vibrate feedback on keyboard when typing doesn't really in actuality use more battery than turning that feature on keyboards off? I've been told two different things other than it being annoying people don't like it for preference doesn't actually eat up more battery or a significant / considerable amount of battery? I've had it turned off on my phone for a while but I want to raise a question again. Thank you.

Short answer: It DOES eat up more battery if the feature is on.

Long anser: The reason is simple, yet the 'is it considerable?' question is not a simple one to answer. First things first. Why does it consume more battery? You're using the phone's vibrating system. That requires power. Use the system, you drain power. Don't use the system, it doesn't drain power. Now for the 'hard' part. Is it a considerable amount? It depends. Are you typing a few webpages and quick texts a day or are you writing your Master's thesis on a virtual keyboard? The first will pretty much be negligible in terms of battery life, but the latter will definitely take a toll. Same thing if you keep your phone in Silent VS Vibrate. The latter will use more battery, but it will only be significant if you get a ton of calls and notifications and having the phone go into a seizure dance for two hours.

That's very very true ! Thanks for the explanation! I had a funny feeling regarding the explanation to I just want to verify. I haven't use the vibrate haptic feedback on my keyboard in years but I got the thought in my head and I wanted to ask. Now, I know this is all relative to everyone's usage on their phones, but what is your average daily battery life on your Nexus 6 look like? I can Get about a day or so battery but thank God for the turbocharger both car and home! The battery chargers up wicked wicked fast! I still love this phone overall though!

I don't have a Nexus 6 currently, but I did test-drive one for about a week and so. Maybe not the most, but at least for my use, I could make it through the work day just fine. It wouldn't survive all day, mind you, so I had to plug it to the car on my way home or when I got home for the evening, so it wasn't impressive, but also not as bad.

You know if I use Google Maps or GPS my battery is slaughtered! Like I said I have a turbo charger for home and car use which helps greatly whenever I need it. However on average usage I can get about a day or so out of my battery still. I'm using Nova Launcher prime by the way.

Yeah, GPS and camera (and, of course, the screen) are the top 'battery munchers' on phones these days. If you use Google Maps for Navigation, especially, that will drain your battery considerably. That's why whenever I'm navigating in the car I keep my phone plugged in unless it's a short drive.

Yes, and plus, what I like about Nova Launcher is I have a shortcut for my GPS location based settings so that when I'm not using Google Maps I definitely keep in and battery saver mode so it doesn't paying the network so much. Miller promise sometimes it has a hard time walking and coordinates for GPS in Google Maps when I do want a GPS and navigate somewhere. But I always close the app down relaunch it and it locks in a little bit quicker the second time around.
