Hi,

On my HTC M8 when I set it to vibrate, all speaker sounds are muted, when I plug in headphones, and listen to music, when I get a call, the ringtone will play through my headphones. Which is how I want it. I can press the center button (on iOS mic/remotes to accept the call).

On S7 Edge when I set it to vibrate, all speaker sounds are muted, when I plug in headphones, and listen to music, when I get a call, the music stops and there is no ringtone, I never know am I getting a call or have I dropped from 4G/3G to GSM and spotify can't stream. Additionally, the supplied headset only does play/pause media and volume. For all other headsets no buttons work. On the HTC at least the center button works to play pause and to accept the call.

When I set it to sound, it plays the ringtone through the headphones but ALSO through the speaker, which makes no sense to me. Is there any way to change this behavior?

The SoundAbout app doesnt work for me.

I’m not sure why it would be doing that. Have you tried going into the sound settings to make sure you have the appropriate sound(s) set to the desired level?

Yes.

When on silent/vibrate I want ringtones through my headset. And when on Sound I want sound only when the headset is unplugged. When the headset is plugged in, and there is a call it will play through headphones, which is great, but it also uses the speaker at the same time, which is annoying.

Having the same problem here with my Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge. It seems that if you're listening to music it works as designed with notification audio heard through headphones only. However, when I have the headphones plugged in but no music playing it goes through the speakers. This is especially annoying when I'm in the office and it's quiet!
