Vibration inconsistent

These inconsistencies keep surfacing on my HTC Vivid.

Is anyone else having inconsistencies with the vibration working on there Vivid?

If I reduce the sound (via the rocker on the side of the phone) to zero, past no sound to the vibrate function it sometimes vibrates telling me its active and other times doesnt. So far no pattern has emerged why the vibrate works and doesnt work or starts working again. A restart always fixes the problem but its become quite annoying.

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think I've figured out a pattern. When typing a text it vibrates for each character, after several characters the vibration stops. Then I turn the volumn down to vibrate and it doesnt vibrate. Odd.
