Video and Reading Email/Surfing - Multitasking Issue ?

I used to use a Zune HD device just to watch podcasts during daily commute and regularly check emails one in a while during podcasts.

I bought doubleTwust's Podcasts module (after AirSync failed me due to latest doubleTwists' desktop version).. and don't carry the Zune HD player anymore for the last 3 days Podcasts are already on my Evo onced I download them OTA, so it's not streaming but watching a video using doubleTwist player from the Evo disk.

However, my issue is when I get an email and try to open it it pauses my video podcast completely, I want to contiue listening to the podcast in the background while surfing/readnig email.. heck or just playing with new Evo's settings. But can't seem to be able to do it.

Is there something I need to do to be able to listen to a video being played and also surf at the same time?

That might be a limitation of the application, not the phone or Android. The app has to be designed to continue to work with no screen. It is highly likely that a video playing application is not going to carry on in the background when it doesn't have the screen, since the user can't watch it.

Makes sense. Does anyone know of any video app that will work in background?

Pocket casts lets you play the audio of video podcasts in the background.

You just tap the little audio icon on the top.

Hmm imagine if you could tap an icon and the video would pop up like on the gs3? That way you could check your email and still watch the video. I would buy that.

I will try, not sure if that player can pickup the podcasts loaded via doubleTwist?

Pocket casts can download all the podcasts at a specified time. I have mine set to download at 5 am only over wifi.
