Video apps workaround?

I downloaded mobo player and mx player and when playing 720p files if I have hardware decoding I get good picture no sound and when software decode a slight shutter but sound. Why don't I get sound in both apps with hardware decoding?

BTW this is for my nexus 7, im just using my phone this morning.

I would send an email to the MX app developer, they've been pretty responsive with trying to fix things.
